Rochelle Almeida, Master Teacher, Global Cultures (South Asian Studies) presented a paper entitled “Anglo-Indians in Britain and the Paradoxes of Belonging: Community Identity and the Individual” at the 9th World Anglo-Indian Reunion Researchers Workshop in Kolkata (Calcutta), India, on January 13, 2013. The workshop, held at St. Xavier’s College, showcased the recent scholarship of academics working globally in the field of diasporic mixed race studies. Rochelle’s presentation was an extract from her forthcoming full-length ethnographic study on post-war Anglo-Indian immigrants in Great Britain.
